SIKESTON, Mo. -- Mildred Rose Burnett, 90, of Sikeston passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Golden Living Center in Bloomfield, Mo. She was born March 10, 1924, in Benton, Mo., to Otto Louis and Mary Josephine Dohogne Schlitt. She and Jack T. Burnett were married May 13, 1978. He preceded her in death Sept. 3, 2001...

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Mildred Rose Burnett, 90, of Sikeston passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Golden Living Center in Bloomfield, Mo.

She was born March 10, 1924, in Benton, Mo., to Otto Louis and Mary Josephine Dohogne Schlitt. She and Jack T. Burnett were married May 13, 1978. He preceded her in death Sept. 3, 2001.

Mildred was a retired accountant with Jarvis Motor Co. in Sikeston, and a retired funeral director with Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sikeston, Daughters of Isabella, St. Francis Xavier Altar Sodality and Ladies Auxiliary Post 3127 in Chaffee, Mo.

Survivors include two sons, Ron (Linda) Graviett of Bloomfield and Tom (Sibylle) Graviett of Lewisville, Texas; a brother, Harold A. Schlitt of Oran, Mo.; three sisters, Alma Jean Gouge of Wentzville, Mo., Mary Catherine Stoverink of O'Fallon, Mo., and Georgia Neal of St. Louis; a stepdaughter, Jane (David) Pfefferkorn of Sikeston; a stepson, Jack L. (Cindy) Burnett of Chaffee; eight grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and 12 great-stepgrandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Maxie Ray Graviett; and three brothers.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Parish prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. at the chapel.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee, with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop as celebrant. Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
