ANNA, Ill. -- Mildred Bishop, 78, of Anna died Thursday, Dec. 24, 1998, at her home. She was born Sept. 17, 1920, at Carbondale to Jessie Otis and Alma Howell Phelps. She married N.D. "Donkey" Bishop Oct. 7, 1944. He died July 16, 1991. She was a member of Anna Heights Baptist Church and a retired co-owner of Bishop Furniture...

ANNA, Ill. -- Mildred Bishop, 78, of Anna died Thursday, Dec. 24, 1998, at her home.

She was born Sept. 17, 1920, at Carbondale to Jessie Otis and Alma Howell Phelps.

She married N.D. "Donkey" Bishop Oct. 7, 1944. He died July 16, 1991.

She was a member of Anna Heights Baptist Church and a retired co-owner of Bishop Furniture.

Survivors include one daughter, Margot Boyd of Anna; one granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is today from 5-8 p.m. at Crain Funeral Home. Service will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Scott Harner officiating. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.
