Milbert Meister

ALTENBURG, Mo. — Milbert R. "Mike" Meister, 78, of Altenburg died Wednesday, May 28, 2008, in Arnold, Mo.

He was born June 10, 1929, at Frohna, son of Rudolph and Ida Darnstaedt Meister.

Meister was a truck driver. He was a member of the VFW Post in Perryville, Mo.

Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Spink of Arnold; a son, Eric Meister of Millstadt, Ill.; two sisters, Lenore Hacker of Paris, Tenn., Verna Hoehn of Perryville; a brother, Fremont Meister of Speedway, Ind.; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, a brother and a sister.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 6:30 a.m. to service time Monday at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Steven Dressler officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
