MIKE ACORD

SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Cecil M. "Mike" Acord of Sikeston was held Saturday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. David Webb officiated, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Acord, 81, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1993, in the emergency room at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born July 25, 1912, at Aquilla, son of Benjamin Franklin and Mittie Frances Sherry Acord. He and Wilma Anders were married Oct. 20, 1934.

Acord was a retired farmer, and member of Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church here.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Gene Acord of Jacksonville, Ark.; three daughters, Carla Williams of Millington, Tenn., Sherron Wyrick of New Haven, Ind., Patricia Compas of Sikeston; a brother, Bill Acord of Sikeston; a sister, Marie Daugherty of Sikeston; 10 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.
