JONESBORO, Ill. -- Mickey J. Kelley, 57, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 1995, at his home.
He was born Dec. 29, 1937, in Jonesboro, son of Louie and Armita Brown Kelley. He and Irma Wenger were married Dec. 20, 1957, in Union County.
Kelley was Union County treasurer from December 1970 to April 1982. He then owned and operated Brown's Hardware a few years, and then worked at Ensign-Bickford in Wolf Lake.
He was Union County commissioner from December 1986 to November 1990. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Union County Red Cross Disaster Team, and Shawnee Development Council Board of Directors. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Steve Kelley of Jonesboro; his parents of Jonesboro; three brothers, Louis Kelley of Marion, Dick and Gary Kelley of Englewood, Fla., and a grandson.
He was preceded in death by an infant son.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
Friends may call at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home after 4 p.m. today, and Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. to service time.
