Michael Wayne Welter, 45, of Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene of an automobile accident on Route K near Gordonville Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008.
He was born Jan. 4, 1963, in Cape Girardeau, son of Jerome Anthony and Evelyn Marie Sample Welter.
Mr. Welter was a 1981 graduate of Central High School in Cape Girardeau. He was formerly a cook at Delmonico's in Jackson and was also employed by Workforce at Procter & Gamble. He was of the Baptist belief.
He was a member of Harley Owners Group (HOG) in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include his parents of Cape Girardeau; fiancee, Jennifer Davis and her daughter, Brina Davis of Jackson; two sisters, Janice Obermann, Debbie Davidson and her fiance, Marty Evans, all of Jackson; a nephew, Ronald (Karen) Obermann Jr.; a niece, Nicole Singh; and a great-niece, Isabelle Singh.
He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Ronald Obermann Sr.; and grandparents, George and Novella Sample and Joe and Theresa Welter.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran School or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
