MATTHEWS -- Michael A. Stobaugh, 47, of Matthews drowned Thursday, July 23, 1998, at Clearwater Lake near Piedmont.
He was born June 27, 1951, in Sikeston, son of Olen O. and Addie Throop Stobaugh. He and Marilyn Henderhan were married Aug. 30, 1974, at Canalou.
Stobaugh was a 1969 graduate of Matthews High School. He was employed in the maintenance department at Nucor-Yamato Steel Co. in Blytheville, Ark.
He was a charter member of Big Prairie Jaycees, and attended Canalou Assembly of God Church. He served with the U.S. Army in Korea during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael and Jerod Stobaugh of the home; three brothers, Glen Stobaugh of Cascade, Mont., Tom Stobaugh of Torrance, Calif., and Jamie Stobaugh of Matthews.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Mike Cartwright officiating. Burial will be in Matthews Cemetery.
