FOLEY, Ala. -- Gregory Michael Ross, 61, passed away Friday, May 7, 2021, in Foley.
Known by most as Michael Ross, he was born and raised in Jackson and retired and lived in Gulf Shores, Alabama, most recently.
He was a proud member of the New Life in Christ Church in Foley. He loved spending time with his family, cooking, playing many different instruments, painting in oils and acrylics and watching sports. He was known by many as a soccer coach and mentor. He was a chef and loved creating new dishes.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Clark-Ross; children, Rhiannon Davie and grandchildren, Regan and Ross Davie; Samantha (Bruce) Savat and grandchildren, Bruce Jr., Payton, Kiana and Gage Savat; Kia Ross (Aaron Pfountz) and grandchildren, Brooklyn, Skylar, Trinity, Katriona, Lenora and Marcellus Pfountz; and Sabrina Sierra Ross (Gabriel Stack) and grandchild, Barrett Stack; brothers, Randy (Penny) Ross, Tony Ross (Kimberly Taylor), Darren (Beverly) Ross, Ron (Gina) Muriera and Alan Muriera; and sisters, Catherine Muriera and Melanie (Chuck) Morrill.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, James Edward and Teddy Joyce Ross.
Celebrations of Michael's life will be held in both Alabama and Missouri. The first will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at New Life in Christ Church, 102 E. Berry Ave., in Foley.
The other will begin with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. May 29 at McCombs Funeral Home, 640 W Independence St., in Jackson. Funeral service will follow from 11 a.m. to noon at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to JAOSA INC., the soccer organization that Michael coached, dedicating many hours molding young minds and encouraging teamwork.
