Michael Henry Powell, 64, of Jackson passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017, at his home.
He was born Oct. 19, 1952, in Cape Girardeau, son of Thomas L. and Elva Ann Trost Powell Sr.
Mike attended Jackson Schools. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson.
He worked for many years in the telecommunications field, installing much of the cable in Cape Girardeau. Mike first worked for TCI Communications in Cape Girardeau and later for Ketterman Communications as district manager, retiring in 2014.
Mike was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to fish, hunt deer and turkey, ride four-wheelers and garden.
Loving survivors include a daughter, Kelsey Powell of Jackson; a brother, Thomas (Teresa) Powell Jr. of Paducah, Kentucky; and his companion, Roslyn Marberry, of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. David Dohogne and John Harth officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
In lieu flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Hospital in St. Louis.
