Michael Obermann

Michael Wayne Obermann, 61, of Maryland Heights, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at 2030 Craig Road in Maryland Heights.

He was born June 26, 1948, in Cape Girardeau, to H.W. "Bud" and Betty Oxford Obermann.

Obermann graduated from Parkway High School in Chesterfield, Mo. He attended Southeast Missouri State University and community college in Kirkwood, Mo.

He was on observation duty during the Munich Olympics in Germany.

Obermann served in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1977.

He was a service attendant at Ruethers Jeep in Creve Coeur, Mo.

Survivors include his father, H.W. "Bud" Obermann of Dutchtown; three brothers, Gary and Mark Obermann of St. Charles, Mo., Bruce Obermann of Winter Haven, Fla.; and a sister, Beverly Sontegrath of Eureka, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother, Keith Obermann.

Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Nathan Burgell officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park with military rites by Missouri Honor Team.
