FROHNA, Mo. -- Michael L. Leadbetter, 68, of Frohna died Monday, July 17, 2017, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson County in Festus, Missouri.
He was born Feb. 2, 1949, in Cape Girardeau, son of Clarence U. and Thelma (Eaker) Leadbetter. He and Bernita Johnson were married Sept. 24, 1971. She survives in Frohna.
He was a retired truck driver for Schnucks.
He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Frohna, V.F.W. Post 4282 and American Legion Post 133. He was a U.S, Army Vietnam veteran.
Other survivors include two sons, Jason (Carrie) Leadbetter of St. Charles and David (Gwen) Leadbetter of Jackson, and four grandchildren, Emma, Hope, Nolan and Dakota.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Ervin, Raymond and Ivan.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 6:30 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Concordia Lutheran Church in Frohna.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Steven Dressler officiating. Burial will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Wounded Warrior Project or Concordia Lutheran Church in Frohna.
