Michael Dean Kaempfer, 65, of Fruitland died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2020, at his home.
He was born Jan. 5, 1955, in Cape Girardeau to Fred and Dollie Louise Dabbs Kaempfer.
He worked as a first mate for Pattontully, then as a park maintenance worker for the City of Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department. Michael proudly served his country in the U.S. Army with two years of active duty and two years in the Reserves.
Michael is survived by his daughter, Shawna (Bronson) Senn; son, Shawn Kaempfer; grandchildren, Hunter, Levi and Sawyer; sisters, Diane O'Kelly, Dollie Hoffman and Tina Rhymer; and brothers, Jack "Bimbo" Kaempfer and Danny Kaempfer.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Crain Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Stan Hargis officiating. Military honors will follow.
Memorial contributions may be made to Crain Funeral Home and Cremation Service to help with the funeral expenses. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
