Michael Hines

Michael Dale Hines, 38, a resident of Cape Girardeau for the past 15 years and a former resident of the New Columbia community in Massac County, Illinois, passed away Saturday afternoon, June 27, 2015, at 12:18 at Southeast Missouri Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Mike was born Sept. 23, 1976, in Bloomington, Illinois. He was the son of Gary D. and Debbie L. (Castleman) Hines. They reside in the New Columbia community.

In addition to his parents, Mike is survived by a brother, Jared Duane Hines of the New Columbia community, and a sister, Stacie Lynn (Zachary) Allen of Hermitage, Tennessee; a niece, Taylor Paige Hines; and a host of other relatives and many dear friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lavern and Iva Hines; his maternal grandparents, Henry and Audrey Castleman; an aunt, Sandra Lee Keipp; and uncles Robert DeWayne Castleman, Richard Allen Castleman, Henry Lee Castleman Jr. and Ronnie Hines.

Mike was the valedictorian graduate of Massac County High School. He received a Bachelor's Degree in mathematics from Southeast Missouri University in 2003. Mike was the co-owner of GoGreen Contracting as well as the owner of Ketchlight Photography, both in Cape Girardeau. Mike had a passion for photography and was an accomplished artist. He loved nature, the outdoors and hiking. Mike was very ecologically minded and was a dedicated recycler.

He was of the Baptist faith.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna, Illinois. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery near New Columbia.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
