PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Michael J. Cushman, 56, of Perryville died Sunday, May 12, 2002, at his home.
He was born Aug. 2, 1945, in Red Bud, Ill., son of Bernie M. and Fern B. Colvis Cushman. He and Mary A. Epplin were married Oct. 22, 1966.
Cushman was owner/ operator of Cushman Companies. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus 4th Degree and past grand knight, charter member of Perryville Elks, American Legion Post 133, and Perryville Optimist Club.
He served in the Army National Guard.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Michelle Crow, Mary Cates and Melissa Cushman of Cape Girardeau, Marci Bollinger of Perryville; a son, Michael Cushman Jr. of Cape Girardeau; his mother of Chester, Ill.; four sisters, Connie Holzum and Betty Welge of Chester, Linda Smith of Alton, Ill., Debria Davitz of Atlanta, Ga.; two granddaughters; and two stepgrandsons.
He was preceded in death by his father and an infant son.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, and from 6:30-9:30 a.m. Thursday. Parish prayers and Knights of Columbus rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent's Church, with the Rev. Kevin Fausz officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at Chester, with military graveside rites.
