YOUNT, Mo. -- Metta Jane Lix, 84, died Aug. 19, 2015, at her home in Yount.
She was born Nov. 21, 1930, in Yount, the daughter of Perry A. and Mary Heitman Fadler. She and Louis Lix Jr. were married Oct. 22, 1950, at Mount Zion Lutheran Church in Yount, where they both were confirmed. He preceded her in death Feb. 18, 2012.
Metta was a homemaker and a beautician. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Metta loved playing the piano and was a former church pianist. She was a former member of the Perry County Art Guild. Her greatest joy was her family. Junior and Metta had enjoyed camping and boating with their family and friends.
Metta and Junior were blessed with six loving children, who all survive, Susan (Ray) White, Nancy (Roger) Schremp, Peggy (Tom) Keliher, Judy (Kenny) Hoehn, Debbie (Keith) McCrary and Mark (Dorothy) Lix. She also is survived by one sister, Velma (Jack) Brewer; 19 grandchildren, Jill (Eric) Clinton, Amy (Brian) Davis, Christina Schremp and Kelsey (Jason Thieret) Schremp, Dalton and Hannah Hoehn, Sarah (Dan) Linza, Samantha, Savannah, Sophia, Sadie, Louie and Levi McCrary, Adam, Danielle, Ashley and Emily Lix, Brooke (Steve) Anderson and Lindsey (Chris Straub) Keliher; and 13 great-grandchildren, Alex, Lillie and Faith Clinton, Brianna, Andy, Abigail, Luke, Emma, Ezra, Anna and Jesse Davis, and Ellie Linza and Austin Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; her father- and mother-in-law, Louis Sr. and Marie Lix; and one sister-in-law, Shirley Lix.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 6:30 to 8:15 a.m. Monday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.
She then will be taken to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville, Missouri, for the funeral service at 10 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. Thomas Handrick officiating. Burial will be in Yount Community Cemetery in Yount.
Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Radio Broadcast and Immanuel Lutheran Church or School.
