Melva Overton

ADVANCE, Mo. -- Melva Mae Overton, 93, of Advance died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007, at Advance Nursing Center. She was born Jan. 29, 1914, at McGee, Mo., daughter of Benjamin Adolph and Bertha Marie Duniphan Hanner. She and Buford E. Overton were married Dec. 3, 1933, at McGee. He died May 25, 1964...

ADVANCE, Mo. -- Melva Mae Overton, 93, of Advance died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007, at Advance Nursing Center.

She was born Jan. 29, 1914, at McGee, Mo., daughter of Benjamin Adolph and Bertha Marie Duniphan Hanner. She and Buford E. Overton were married Dec. 3, 1933, at McGee. He died May 25, 1964.

Overton was a member of Abernathy Chapel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Lerrie Overton of Zalma, Mo.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son and two brothers.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Revs. Dan and Ben Overton, grandsons, will officiate. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park at Marble Hill, Mo.
