MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Mellie T. Shell, 87, of Marble Hill died Thursday, March 10, 2005, at Elder Care.
She was born June 13, 1917, in Lutesville, Mo., daughter of William "Bill" and Nancy Oliver Harold Null. She and Otis Hahn were married Sept. 14, 1935. He died Feb. 4, 1984. She and Milford T. Shell were married Aug. 2, 1985.
Shell worked for the Green Thumb, was an Avon representative from 1961 to 1983, and was a former election official. She was a member of Marble Hill United Methodist Church and its choir, Order of Eastern Star, and Rebekah Lodge 605.
Survivors include a son, Ted Hahn of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Jane Chestnut of Marble Hill; two stepsons, Naymon Dale Shell of St. Charles, Mo., Norman Gale Shell of St. Peters, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Lee Ann Fry of state of Indiana, Linda Sue Aytes of state of Virginia; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-stepgrandchild.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Gerald Huff and Michael Kelpe officiating. Burial will be in Baker Cemetery near Marble Hill.
