ADVANCE, Mo. -- Melba Jean Stevenson Ruhl, 72, of Springfield, Ill., passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
She was born Oct. 31, 1939, in Greenbrier, Mo., daughter of Wilbur and Elsie Crites Robins. She and John Ruhl were married March 22, 2003, in Advance.
Melba was raised in Advance. She was of the Baptist belief. Melba was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to laugh.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Rodney (Alice) Stevenson of Tuckerman, Ark., Randy (Dianne) Stevenson of Odessa, Texas; two daughters, Pamela Stevenson-Wolf of Springfield, Robin (Lance) Stevenson-Flury of Williamsville, Ill.; a brother, Farel Robins of Advance; nine grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and seven great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Norman Robins.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
