BENTON, Mo. -- Maxine Stabbs, 74, of Benton died Saturday, June 16, 2012, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born May 29, 1938, in Charleston, Mo., daughter of Leo F. and Seena L. Chandler Hale. She and Lawrence A. Stabbs were married July 14, 1956, and he preceded her in death.
Maxine worked as a caregiver, and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include three sons, Lawrence Stabbs Jr. of Hermitage, Tenn., John Franklin Stabbs of Benton and Bruce Stabbs of Dexter, Mo.; a brother, Morris Hale of Benton; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several special nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by seven brothers and a sister.
Graveside service will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Unity Baptist Cemetery near Benton, with the Rev. Dennis Lowe officiating.
Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton is in charge of arrangements.
