Maxine Marks, 88, of Prairie Village, Kansas, and formerly of Jackson, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2020, at Adventhealth Center in Shawnee Mission, Kansas.
She was born April 26, 1932, in Ezel, Kentucky, daughter of Joseph and Laura Ethel McCracken Trimble. She and Dale Allen Marks were married Sept. 14, 1956, in Lexington, Kentucky. He passed away April 19, 1995.
Maxine was a 1948 graduate of Ezel High School. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Jackson for many years. She did in-home babysitting for neighborhood children. Maxine enjoyed playing bridge and, recently, playing rummy.
Loving survivors include daughters, Beverly (Neil) Prater of Jackson, Tennessee, and Brenda (Jim) Bono of Olathe, Kansas; grandchildren, Garrett (Stephanie) Williams, Derek (Emily) Williams, Mary Bono and Daniel Bono; and three great-grandchildren, Stratton, Payne and Harris Williams.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Dale Marks; parents; adult sisters, Elizabeth Spence, Katherine Grill, Lillie Mae Allen, Josephine Watson, Irene Abbott and Eva Allen; and an infant sister, Imogene Trimble.
The family will honor Maxine with a private graveside service at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson, where Maxine will be laid to rest next to Dale. The Rev. Tim Miller will officiate.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to First Baptist Church in Jackson or the Alzheimer's Association.
