McCLURE, Ill. -- Maxine "Nanny" Croy, 79, of McClure passed away Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 14, 1933, in Gale, Ill., to Herbert and Ollie Busby Prater. Survivors include two sons, Tommy (Robin) Croy of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Stephen (Laura) Croy of Jackson; two brothers, Herbert Prater of Thebes, Ill., Jerry Prater of McClure; two sisters, Sandra (Norman) Hale and Shirley Hale of McClure; two grandchildren, Nicole Croy of Murfreesboro, Austin "Audi Bird" Croy of Jackson; two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Cashtyn Croy of Murfreesboro; numerous nieces and nephews.. ...

She was born March 14, 1933, in Gale, Ill., to Herbert and Ollie Busby Prater.

Survivors include two sons, Tommy (Robin) Croy of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Stephen (Laura) Croy of Jackson; two brothers, Herbert Prater of Thebes, Ill., Jerry Prater of McClure; two sisters, Sandra (Norman) Hale and Shirley Hale of McClure; two grandchildren, Nicole Croy of Murfreesboro, Austin "Audi Bird" Croy of Jackson; two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Cashtyn Croy of Murfreesboro; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Charles E. "Bull" Croy.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes, with Bill Joyce officiating.

The family would like to welcome all friends to attend.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.
