Max D. Dukes, 58, of Cape Girardeau, died Sunday, May 1, 1994, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 19, 1935, at Nevada, Mo., son of Ira Dukes and Leota Dukes Beavers.
He married Mary Morgan Thompson, Dec. 27, 1976.
Dukes lived in Cape Girardeau since 1985, where he was the former owner and operator of M. M. and R. Transportation.
He was a member of the Living Way Four Square Church.
Dukes was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Randy Dukes and Ricky Thompson, both of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Marcia Wallace and Melinda Dixon, both of Sikeston; two brothers, Charlie Dukes of Chicago, Ill., Lyle Dukes of Wichita, Kan.; two sisters, Jeanne Long of Nevada, Mo., Linda Fleig of Yukon, Okla.; and two grandsons.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Bro. Mike Woelk officiating.
Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
