SIKESTON, Mo. -- Mattie Jean White, 68, of Sikeston died Friday, Feb. 16, 2001, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center. She was born April 21, 1932, at Sikeston, daughter of Elisha Buckner and Fern Bennett Moore. She and Durwood White were married Nov. 26, 1950. He died Dec. 18, 1999...

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Mattie Jean White, 68, of Sikeston died Friday, Feb. 16, 2001, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born April 21, 1932, at Sikeston, daughter of Elisha Buckner and Fern Bennett Moore. She and Durwood White were married Nov. 26, 1950. He died Dec. 18, 1999.

White was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sikeston.

Survivors include a son, Donald Ray White of Sikeston; a daughter, Barbara Yant of Matthews, Mo.; a brother, Marshall Moore of Sikeston; a sister, Emma June Hayes of Columbia, Mo.; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son and a brother.

Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Jim Guffie will officiate, with burial in Essex Cemetery in Essex, Mo.
