SCOTT CITY -- Mattie Lou Bruce, 90, of Scott City, died Monday, Nov. 8, 1993, at Cape Girardeau Nursing Center.
She was born March 13, 1903, in Tennessee, daughter of Robert and Lena Brake. She and Joseph Wheeler Bruce were married Aug. 20, 1920. He died Nov. 17, 1974.
Bruce attended Illmo United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Perry, Grover and Bobby Bruce of Scott City; three daughters, Jessie Vanderbol of Campbell, Helen Bruce and Hilda Hoskins of Scott City; a brother, Herbert Brake of Hot Springs, Ark.; 12 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son and three brothers.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. The Rev. William Dickey will officiate, with burial in Lightner Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4:30 p.m. today.
