CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Matthew Leslie Jaynes, 34, of Chaffee died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Matthew Leslie Jaynes, 34, of Chaffee died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Jan. 27, 1976, in Sikeston, Mo., to Ronald and Betty Newton Jaynes of Chaffee. He and Catina Lawrence of Dexter, Mo., were married Aug. 4, 2000, in Piggott, Ark.

Jaynes graduated from Chaffee High School in 1994 and Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. He had been a registered nurse at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. He was a member of the Bread of Life Church in Jackson, where he was very active in the church's outreach program. He was a former member of Sikeston Jaycees.

Survivors include two sons, Eastin Harrell of Jackson, Ryker Jaynes of Dexter; a daughter, Anney Rose Jaynes of Dexter; a special friend, Tammy Long of Jackson; two brothers, Mark and Grant Jaynes of Chaffee; three sisters, Brooke Jaynes of Cape Girardeau, Ramona Cox of St. Louis, Ronda Marshall of Ashville, N.C.; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Heacox Jaynes, July 27, 2008.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Bread of Life Restoration Center in Jackson, with Greg King officiating.

Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
