MATILDA L. STATLER

PERRYVILLE -- Matilda L. Statler, 95, of Lafayette, Ind., and formerly of Perryville died Friday, Sept. 18, 1993, at her home.

She was born July 16, 1898, near Perryville, the daughter of Henry and Katherine Ruessler Wilke. On Dec. 4, 1916, she married Oda R. Statler, who preceded her in death Feb. 10, 1968.

She was a housewife and a member of the Jehovah's Witness North Congregation in Lafayette.

Survivors include two daughters, Daisey Seifert of Kansas City and Violet Hathaway of Lafayette; three sons, Ellis N. Statler of Costa Mesa, Calif., and Elzie Oda and Elvis E. Statler, both of Perryville; a brother, Edward Wilke of St. Louis; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and five great, great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday or before 2 p.m. Wednesday at Young and Sons Chapel in Perryville, where funeral service will be at 2 Wednesday. The Rev. Bob Bradley will officiate, and burial will be in the Lixville Presbyterian Cemetery.
