Mason E. Thompson died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 1992, in Jerseyville, Ill. He was 85.
He was born Jan. 17, 1907, the son of Vetty and Pavia Seabaugh Thompson.
He married Katie Lenand on May 27, 1924, in Jackson. She survives.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son, Eugene Thompson of Jerseyville; one sister, Drucille Volz of Oakville, Mo.; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. One son, two brothers and one grandchild preceded him in death.
Thompson was a farmer and carpenter, farming in Dutchtown and doing carpenter work in the Cape Girardeau area. He was a former member of the Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau and Bible Baptist Church in Jerseyville.
Visitation will be today from 5:30-9 p.m. at the Ford and Son's Mt. Auburn Chapel. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Bill Ellis officiating. Burial will follow at Lorimier Cemetery.
