BENTON -- Mary M. White, 83, of Rosebud died Monday, April 7, 1997, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Crystal City. She was born Aug. 24, 1913, in Amarillo, Texas, daughter of Roy Lee and Ollie May Austin Gordon. She and Dow Lawrence were married Jan. 31, 1940, at Benton. He died March 23, 1991...

BENTON -- Mary M. White, 83, of Rosebud died Monday, April 7, 1997, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Crystal City.

She was born Aug. 24, 1913, in Amarillo, Texas, daughter of Roy Lee and Ollie May Austin Gordon. She and Dow Lawrence were married Jan. 31, 1940, at Benton. He died March 23, 1991.

Formerly of Charleston and Benton, she had been a beautician and was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton.

Survivors include a son, Wesley White of DeSoto; a daughter, Mary Boyer of Hillsboro; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Robert Schumacher officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
