PERRYVILLE -- Mary Catherine Weinkein, 85, of Perryville, died Tuesday, July 2, 1996, at Perry County Memorial Hospital. She was born June 25, 1911, in Perry County, daughter of Henry J. and Annie J. Layton Benlein. She and Howard F. Weinkein were married June 15, 1930, at Highland. He died Aug. 7, 1995...

PERRYVILLE -- Mary Catherine Weinkein, 85, of Perryville, died Tuesday, July 2, 1996, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

She was born June 25, 1911, in Perry County, daughter of Henry J. and Annie J. Layton Benlein. She and Howard F. Weinkein were married June 15, 1930, at Highland. He died Aug. 7, 1995.

Weinkein was a stitcher at International Shoe Co. 38 years.

Survivors include two sons, Gilbert Weinkein of Russell, Ark., Donald Weinkein of Benton; three daughters, Delores Pingel and Wilma Kiefer of Perryville, Rose Lappe of Garden City; 12 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, grandson and seven brothers.

Friends may call at Miller Family Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m. Thursday, and Friday from 6:30-9:50 a.m. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Friday.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent's Catholic Church, with the Rev. George Billings officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Church Cemetery at Highland.
