Mary Emma Walther, 98, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, April 22, 2006, at Fountainbleau Lodge.
She was born March 8, 1908, at Bloomfield, Mo., daughter of Walter A. and Marie Hawthorne Evans. She and John R. Walther were married Sept. 19, 1931, in Nashville, Ill. He died March 19, 1975.
Walther was a 1925 graduate of Central High School. From 1925 to 1931 she was a secretary at Bowman Brothers Realty Co., and then at Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Southeast Missouri Hospital Auxiliary.
Survivors include two nephews, William Evans of Cape Girardeau and Robert Evans of Sacramento, Calif.
She was preceded in death by three brothers.
Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Cape County Memorial Park. The Rev. Mike Shupert will officiate.
Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
