Mary Zuma Vanderpoel, 77, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born Jan. 21, 1920, at Holcomb, daughter of James Clifford and Ethel Hudgens Campbell. She first married Clyde Thomas Howard in 1940 in Piggott, Ark. He preceded her in death. She later married Cornelius Eugene Vanderpoel III in 1971, in St. Petersburg, Fla. He also preceded her in death.
Vanderpoel attended Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland, Ohio. She retired in 1990 from Ozark Real Estate in Jefferson County. She moved to Cape Girardeau and operated Riverwalk Bed and Breakfast.
She was a member of St. Phillips Episcopal Church, Missouri State Board of Realtors, and Missouri Women's Board of Realtors. She was a past president of Business and Professional Women's Clubs in Festus and Crystal City.
Survivors include a daughter, Jeannie Stout of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Albert Campbell of New Port Richey, Fla., Buel Campbell of Qulin, Loyce Campbell of Festus; five sisters, Loraine Webb of Houston, Texas, Phyllis Cookson of Broseley, Joan Swain of Blytheville, Ark., Jannette Pogue of Puxico, and Sally Morehead of Qulin.
Friends may call at Landess Funeral Home in Campbell from 6-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with burial in Qulin Cemetery at Qulin.
