NEW MADRID -- Funeral service for Mary Virginia Hunter of New Madrid will be held at 11 a.m. today at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Richards Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Hunter, 74, died Thursday, July 27, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born July 19, 1921, in New Madrid, daughter of Lee Andrew and Estella Eiceman Crisler. She and Hal Edward Hunter Jr. were married Dec. 24, 1942, in New Madrid.
Hunter was a graduate of the University of Tennessee Nursing School in Memphis. She was a member of Immaculate Church, Ladies Golf Association, and had been a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Hal "Buck" Hunter III, Stephen and Lee Hunter of New Madrid; three daughters, Carolyn Lamanna of Germantown, Tenn., Mary Eddy of Cape Girardeau, Dr. Lora Little of Memphis, and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
