CLEVELAND, Tenn. -- Mary Clementine Tripp passed away Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, at Brookdale Senior Living Center in Cleveland. Formerly of Cape Girardeau. She was born Dec. 4, 1942, in Jefferson City, the daughter of Joseph J. and Phyllis E. Bollinger. She married Donald Eugene Tripp on Oct. 14, 1967, in Benton. He preceded her in death June 9, 2018, after 51 years of marriage...

CLEVELAND, Tenn. -- Mary Clementine Tripp passed away Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, at Brookdale Senior Living Center in Cleveland. Formerly of Cape Girardeau.

She was born Dec. 4, 1942, in Jefferson City, the daughter of Joseph J. and Phyllis E. Bollinger. She married Donald Eugene Tripp on Oct. 14, 1967, in Benton. He preceded her in death June 9, 2018, after 51 years of marriage.

A graduate of Thomas W. Kelly High School in Benton, Missouri, Mary pursued a career as a clerk and legal secretary, retiring from the Oliver Law Firm in 2010.

She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral Parish in Cape Girardeau and attended Old St. Vincent's Church, previously serving as director of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults process. A dedicated quilter, she belonged to the River City Quilters and shared her art for charity, with family and supported Quilts for Veterans. She was a long-time member of the Southeast Missouri Association of Legal Secretaries.

Mary is survived by her sister, Brenda (the late Bob) Blevins of Cleveland; brother, Daniel J. (Lynn) Bollinger of Loganville, Georgia; nieces, Melinda (Joe Jr.) Kirk of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Elizabeth Lee (John Thornton) of Covington, Georgia; nephews, Jason (Michelle) Blevins of Holly Springs, Georgia, and Daniel J. (Sunny) Bollinger II of Lilburn, Georgia; and Don's beloved nephew, Chuck (Nancy) Ross of Cape Girardeau.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

There will be a gathering in Mary's honor at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 11 in the vestibule of St. Therese Catholic Church in Cleveland, followed by a Memorial Mass at 5:30 p.m.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Old St. Vincent's in Cape Girardeau on later date.

In lieu of flowers donations to Old St. Vincent's, the Alzheimer's Association, or your favorite charity are suggested.
