BELL CITY -- Funeral for Mary Juanita Surface will be at 10 a.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Burial will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery near Bell City.
Surface, 70, died Tuesday, July 6, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Aug. 28, 1928, at Bloomfield, daughter of John and Gladys Lingle Baker. She married Jake Henry Surface, who preceded her in death Oct. 20, 1972.
She had lived in the Bell City area all her life.
Survivors include three sons, Junior Surface of Essex, Hughes Surface of Sikeston, Charles Surface of Bell City; two daughters, Mary Kelly of Hooks, Texas, Carolyn Polley of Bell City; three brothers, William Baker of Chaffee; Willie and Billy Joe Baker of Sikeston; three sisters, Aline Hess of Delta, Hazel Carroll of Sikeston, Wilma Pennington of Puxico; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and a sister.
