Mary C. Stinnett, 78, of Cape Girardeau, died Monday, Aug. 23, 2004, in a car accident on Interstate 55 in Cape Girardeau County.
She was born June 17, 1926, in Christian County, Ky., daughter of Edgar M. and Tillie B. Wiggins Back. She and Frank J. Stinnett Jr. were married May 25, 1942, in St. Louis. He died Dec. 27, 1995.
Mrs. Stinnett worked at Ely Walker in Scott City and at Tri-Con in Cape Girardeau, retiring in 1994.
Survivors include two sons, Frank Stinnett of Cape Girardeau, Anthony Stinnett of Paducah, Ky.; two daughters, Jane Sides of Nashville, Tenn., Wanda Cumins of Van Buren, Mo.; a sister, Alice Hight of Douglasville, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Trina Seyer, Shatina, Tana, Tammy, Felicia, Alicia and Tony; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. today.
A private funeral will be held Thursday. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
