Tamms, Ill. -- Mary Louise Stiff, 85, passed away at 7:18 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2014, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
Mrs. Stiff was born June 1, 1928, at Guthrie, Kentucky, daughter of the late Clurie Cullum Franklin and Lucille Kennedy Franklin.
Mrs. Stiff was a member of the McClure Pentecostal Church and attended the Cairo Pentecostal Church for many years. She was a seamstress and factory worker for 25 years at the former Snower's Factory in Cairo, Illinois.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul Harold Stiff on May 16, 2011; two sisters; and three brothers.
Survivors include four sons, Charles L. Stiff, Paul Douglas Stiff and Bill Stiff, all of Tamms, and Kenny Stiff of Olive Branch, Illinois; a daughter, Glenda Dowdy of Tamms; three sisters, Dorothy Mayberry of Cairo, Barbara Ann Johnson of Peoria, Illinois, and Carolyn Sue Smith of Hendersonville, Tennessee; a brother, David Lee Franklin of Ullin, Illinois; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call between 9 and 11 a.m. Monday at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Shannon Hollingsworth and the Rev. Bob Smithey officiating.
Interment will follow in the Olive Branch Cemetery in Olive Branch.
