KARNAK, Ill. -- Mary B. Smiley, 87, of Karnak died Wednesday, July 1, 1998, at Magnolia Manor in Metropolis. She was born Oct. 9, 1910, at Gideon, Mo., daughter of Webb and Maude Husk Hill. KARNAK, Ill. -- Mary B. Smiley, 87, of Karnak died Wednesday, July 1, 1998, at Magnolia Manor in Metropolis.

She was born Oct. 9, 1910, at Gideon, Mo., daughter of Webb and Maude Husk Hill. She married Lodis Smiley, who preceded her in death.

Smiley was a member of First Baptist Church in Karnak.

Survivors include two daughters, Juanita Wright of Simpson, Jepsie Goddard of Kuttawa, Ky.; a sister, Flora Walker of Karnak; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, a son, three sisters, and two brothers.

Friends may call at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak from 6-9 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, with the Revs. Shawn Wasson and Jerry Wells officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery at Cypress.
