Mary A. Robertson, 81, went to be home with Jesus on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Oct. 3, 1934, at Oran, Missouri, the daughter of Albert Floyd and Letha Irene Livingston.
Mary attended Bell City Schools in Bell City, Missouri.
She was a homemaker and also worked at Thorngate Factory in Chaffee, Missouri, for many years. She owned and operated Video and Things in Oran for about 15 years until she retired. She was loved and respected by all her customers.
Mary loved to crochet, cook and craft. She loved being a part of Amazing Grace Worship Center in Gordonville. She worked with homeless families and was head of the food bank and head of church dinners. Her spaghetti and chicken and dumplings were her favorite dishes.
Mary and William "Bill" Henry Robertson were united in marriage July 14, 1951, at Sikeston, Missouri, and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons, Dennis (Ginger) Robertson of Chaffee, Rick Robertson of St. Louis and Randy (Lisa) Robertson of Benton, Missouri; three daughters, Judith (Jim) Vavak of Advance, Missouri, Peggy (Brian Vega) Tom Kiewicz of St. Louis and Cindy (Gary Payne) Rhodes of Puxico, Missouri; two brothers, Joe (Mary Lou) Livingston of Advance and Allen (Renate) Livingston of Cahokia, Illinois; a sister, Sue (Dennis) Long of St. Louis; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers; and a grandson.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today at the chapel, with the Rev. LeDon Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Bell City.
