SIKESTON -- Mary Phillips, 78, of Sikeston died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 23, 1921, in Jasper, Ala., daughter of Amos Andrew and Sumantha Mincy. She and Orville Palmer were married in 1941. He died in 1953. She and Dewey "Wally" Phillips were married Oct. 18, 1967. He died Sept. 28, 1998.
Phillips had been a private duty nurse, and worked at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau before retiring. She attended the Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Wilford Palmer of Cut Bank, Mont.; a daughter, Silvia Bell of Sikeston; a stepson, Rodney Phillips of Kansas City; a sister, Frances; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery at Charleston.
