BENTON -- Mary M. Strayhorn, 86, of Benton, died Friday, March 26, 1993, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Feb. 5, 1907, at Webster Groves, Mo., daughter of Frederick A. and Grace Reese Stebbins.
She was married to Winford B. Strayhorn June 27, 1935 at Webster Groves, Mo. He died March 17, 1982.
Throughout her career as a school teacher, Strayhorn worked at Anniston, Blodgett, Diehlstadt, Benton and Kelly high schools. She taught English, home economics and science.
Survivors include two brother-in-laws, Clayton Carroll of Blodgett, Jesse Strayhorn of Burbon, Mo.; and a sister-in-law, Zelma Carroll of Blodgett.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call from 4-6 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton, with the Rev. John Gregory of the Benton Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will follow at the Forest Hills Cemetery near Morley.
