MARY LOUISE SCHERER

BENTON -- Mary Louise Scherer, 60, of Benton died Tuesday, June 20, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born July 23, 1934, in Benton, daughter of Celeste Enderle and Cletus Scherer. She married Gregory B. Scherer on Aug. 27, 1955, in Benton. He survives.

Scherer was employed by St. Denis Catholic School in Benton as a cook. She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church and the Ladies Sodality.

Survivors are her mother; three sons, Joe Scherer of St. Louis, Glenn Scherer of Poplar Bluff and Tim Scherer of Dexter; five daughters, Rosanne Elsey of Sikeston, Karen Scherer of Nashville, Mary Beth Beggs and Laura Scherer, both of Benton, and Kristy Scherer of St. Louis; six brothers, Charles Scherer of Benton, Jim Scherer of Nashville, Tom Scherer of Anniston, Cletus Scherer of Benton, Harold Scherer of Midlothian, Texas, and Daniel Scherer of Fairview, Tenn.; four sisters, Ruth Ann Benscooter of Farmington, Clara Grider of Cincinnati, Celeste Nenninger of Cape Girardeau and Ann Stuckey of Benton; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons and a grandchild.

Friends may call at today after 4 p.m. at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton. Parish rosary will be at 7 p.m. A Knights of Columbus prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m. by the Scott City Council, St. Joseph 6420.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Denis Catholic Church, with the Rev. Norman Varone officiating. Burial will be in St. Denis Church Cemetery.
