CHARLESTON -- Mary Lola Davis, 97, of Charleston died Thursday, March 11, 1993, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born Sept. 30, 1897, at rural East Prairie, the daughter of Richard and Katie Lewis Dixon.

She was a member of St. Matthew Baptist Church in Charleston, where she served on the Mother Board.

Survivors include four daughters, Justine Horton of Charleston, Evelyn Dean of Youngstown, Ohio, Margie Davis of Chicago, Ill. and Emma Lee Davis of Cape Girardeau; three sons, Ozean Davis and John Henry Davis, both of Charleston, and L.C. Davis of Chicago; a brother, Arthaniel Dixon of Chicago; two sisters, Ethel William of Hayti and Gussie McCullon of Gary, Ind.; 54 grandchildren; and numerous great-granchildren and great, great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 7-8 p.m. Monday at Sparks Funeral Home in Charleston. Funeral service will be Tuesday afternoon at St. Matthew Baptist Church in Charleston. James Robinson, a church elder, will officiate, and burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery at Charleston.
