Mary Leona Grim, 1525 Mississippi, died Friday, June 27, 1997, at the Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was 101 years old.
She was born March 8, 1896, daughter of James and Mary Wright Hill. On March 24, 1918, she married James Clinton Grim in Bloomfield. He preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 1948.
She moved to St. Louis in 1943, where she worked as a gluer at Hamilton-Schultz Shoe Co. in St. Louis until her retirement in 1962. In 1969, she moved to Cape Girardeau, where she became a member of First Christian Church and Fort D Senior Citizens.
She is survived by one son, Orville Grim of Cape Girardeau; one daughter, Audrey McIntire of Cape Girardeau; one stepdaughter, Jeana Stephens of Phoenix, Ariz.; eight grandchildren and one foster grandchild; 16 great-grandchildren and two foster great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and six sisters.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the chapel, the Rev. Philip Curran officiating. Burial will follow in Hobbs Chapel Cemetery.
