Mary Lee Sander, 76, of Millersville passed away Friday, March 8, 2024, with her family at her side.

She was born April 6, 1947, to Odie and Dorothy Garland Cook. She and Jerry Sander were married Feb. 19, 1965, near Scopus.

She retired from housekeeping at Southeast Hospital, and previously worked at International Hat and Venture Hat factories.

Mary Lee loved with her whole heart, never spoke unkindly and always looked for good. She faithfully served alongside Jerry in his lifelong ministry.

Loving survivors include her husband of 59 years, the Rev. Jerry Sander; son, Wayne Sander of Millersville; daughter, Cindy Burger of Jackson; five grandchildren, Joshua (Amber) Tucker, Courtney Obermann, Malary (Zeke) Seabaugh, Cassidy (Nick) Krull and Ethan Humphrey; six great-grandchildren, Haleigh, Kolbi, Dayton, Millie, Stella, Rylen and Dehila; two sisters, Carolyn (Gary) Sander and Connie Stewart; a brother, Bobby (Eyvon) Cook; three brothers-in-law, Terry Sander, Steven (Sharon) Sander and Bill Malito; three sisters-in-law, Marie Sander, Janice (Ron) White and Dawn Sander; many nieces and nephews; and her forever son-in-law, Mike Burger.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Jerry's parents, Joe Dayton and Lillian Sander; two sisters; and a brother-in-law.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The Revs. Steve Jordan and Otis Long will conduct the funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Haynes Chapel Cemetery near Millersville.

If considering a memorial donation, the family suggests Saint Francis Hospital Foundation for the Cancer Patient Fund.
