GRAND CHAIN, Ill. -- Mary Joyce Greer, 68, of Grand Chain, died Sunday, March 26, 2000, at Union County Hospital in Anna, Ill.

She was born July 6, 1931, in Union Town, Ky., daughter of Albert and Florence McWharter Roof. She and Carl Greer Sr. were married. He preceded her in death.

She was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include two daughters, LaQuita Hunt of Grand Chain and Sylvia Marlow of Rockford; four sons, Gary Greer of Symsonia, Ky., Ronald, Jimmy and Carl Greer, all of Karnak; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. today at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Flo Patrick and Alvin Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery in Belknap.
