Mary Hunter Byrd, 88, of 2825 Bloomfield Road, died Wednesday, July 20, 1994, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born April 9, 1906 in Oak Ridge, the daughter of T.B. and Emma VanAmburg Clodfelter. On Dec. 24, 1924, she married Carol Elliot Byrd in Fredericktown. He preceded her in death March 5, 1991...

Mary Hunter Byrd, 88, of 2825 Bloomfield Road, died Wednesday, July 20, 1994, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born April 9, 1906 in Oak Ridge, the daughter of T.B. and Emma VanAmburg Clodfelter.

On Dec. 24, 1924, she married Carol Elliot Byrd in Fredericktown. He preceded her in death March 5, 1991.

She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.

She is survived by two sons, the Rev. Clyde Byrd, San Antonio, Texas, Carol H. Byrd, Waynesboro, Va.; a sister, Elsie Riehn, Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel with the Rev. Neil Stein officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call Monday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 6-8 p.m.
