ANNA, Ill. -- Mary E. "Jane" Hemby, 78, of Anna died Sunday, April 20, 2003, at the home of her daughter. She was born Feb. 4, 1925, in Wolf Lake, Ill., daughter of Leonard and Minnie Foster McMahan. She and Bill Hemby were married Oct. 18, 1949. He died Nov. 10, 1994...

ANNA, Ill. -- Mary E. "Jane" Hemby, 78, of Anna died Sunday, April 20, 2003, at the home of her daughter.

She was born Feb. 4, 1925, in Wolf Lake, Ill., daughter of Leonard and Minnie Foster McMahan. She and Bill Hemby were married Oct. 18, 1949. He died Nov. 10, 1994.

She was a member of Anna United Methodist Church and the Zeta Psi chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She was a volunteer for RSVP and Union County Hospital Auxiliary, and a member of Senior Circle.

Survivors include a daughter, Jo Vonna Noble of Anna; and two grandsons.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and until funeral time Wednesday at Crain Funeral Home in Anna. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Allen Campbell officiating. Burial will be in the Anna City Cemetery.
