Mary Belle Headrick, 91, of Jackson died Monday, Feb. 25, 2019, at The Arbors in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Jan. 17, 1928, at the family farm between Jackson and Oak Ridge to James Shelton and Daisy Cowan Godwin. She and Ralph Headrick were married July 17, 1948, at Jackson. He preceded her in death May 15, 2014.

She was a graduate of Jackson High School.

For several years, she was a secretary and bookkeeper for Federal Land Bank and Cape County Shipping Co. in Jackson and for many years was the educational secretary at First Baptist Church in Jackson, retiring in 1990.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson since the mid 1940s, where she taught Sunday school and was a Sanctuary Choir member for more than 60 years. She was also an active member of Woman's Missionary Union.

Survivors include a sister, Wanda (Cal) Woodall of St. Louis and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four sisters, Mildred Grossman, Hazel Williams, Lela Schlue and Wilma Walker; and four brothers, Raymond Godwin, Woodrow Godwin, Lyman Godwin and Morrell Godwin. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral will follow at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Randy Riley officiating. Burial will be at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorial contributions may be given to First Baptist Church in Jackson.
