MARY HAMPTON

EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Funeral for Mary Katherine Hampton of East Prairie will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home. Martin Lucas will officiate. Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until service time.

Hampton, 71, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at East Prairie Nursing Center.

She was born May 20, 1929, in East St. Louis, Ill., daughter of John Walter and Mable Ruth Hailey.

Hampton lived in East Prairie most of her life.

Survivors include three daughters, Joyce Brockus and Betty Jenkins of East Prairie, Mary Costa of Bakersfield, Calif.; a sister, Martha Zolliner of Sparta, Ill.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, two brothers, and a sister.
