Mary Lynn Knaup Gardiner, 62, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, July 30, 2016, at her home.

She was born March 26, 1954, in Cape Girardeau to Richard Joseph and Carla Jo Whitehead Knaup.

She and Steven "Oscar" Gardiner were married Feb. 20, 1981, in Cape Girardeau.

She was a member of St. Mary Cathedral. She worked with the family floral business over 40 years. Some of her favorite pastimes were playing softball with her friends, playing golf, cards and Bunco and spending time with her grandchildren. Mary deeply loved her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Steven "Oscar" Gardiner of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Jennifer (Keith) Heuring of Jackson; son Adam Gardiner (Robert Shaw) of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Richard J. (Charlotte Scherer) Knaup of Jackson, James W. (Debra Wills) Knaup of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Thomas B. Knaup of Cape Girardeau; four sisters, Marla G. (Harold) Kunz of Kirkwood, Missouri, Karen E. (David) Rife of Florissant, Missouri, Kathryn J. Landewee of Cape Girardeau and Lucy C. (Kenneth) DeVaughn of St. Louis; and three grandchildren, Halle Renee Heuring, Laci Michelle Heuring and Cooper Dylan Heuring.

She also is survived by several nieces and nephews that were extremely dear to her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at St. Mary Grade School Gymnasium in Cape Girardeau, with parish prayers being said at 7 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Cathedral in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Joseph Kelly officiating.

Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to Scleroderma Foundation, 300 Rosewood Drive No. 105, Danvers, MA 01923.
